Summary

Ghazar Jahketsi, the Catholicos of All Armenians from 1737 to 1751, was a prominent theologian, poet and a figure secretly connected with the Armenian national-liberation movement. In his writings, Jahketsi worked out a rather inclusive conception of Armenian national ideology of the 17-18th centuries. This article, for the first time, analyzes the components and priorities of Jahketsi's ideology, inter alia, identifying its historical background and antecedents, including literary sources.

Лазарь Джахкеци, католикос всех армян с 1737 по 1751 гг., был видным теологом, поэтом и лицом, тайно связанным с армянским национально-освободительным движением. В своих произведениях Джахкеци выработал довольно полную концепцию армянской национальной идеологии XVII-XVIII вв.. Данная статья впервые подвергает анализу компоненты и приоритеты идеологии Джахкеци, раскрывая, в частности, его исторические предпосылки и контекст, включая литературные источники.
