ARAM KEVORKIAN (1928-2003)
Aram Kevorkian, a writer and distinguished attorney has been practicing law in Paris for over thirty years. A. Kevorkian was American born and a graduate of Harvard Law and a life-long resident of Paris. Died in December 2003. A. Kevorkian met Saroyan in 1961 and became his lawyer. In his contribution titled, "Saroyan and Paris," he spoke of Saroyan at a time when he was broke and saddened by a failed marriage and a career that had drifted out of the spotlight. Saroyan eventually pulled himself out of this state of dejection and completed some of his best work. From obituary: It is with great sorrow that we inform you of the death of our father, Aram J. Kevorkian, on December 20 2003. The funeral took place on December 24, 2003 at 10:30AM at the American Cathedral, 23 avenue George V, 75008 Paris, followed by burial at the Cimetière Montparnasse, 3 boulevard Edgar-Quintet, 75014 Paris. As a tribute to our father, we attach a special issue of the Kevorkian Newsletter and another copy of his Christmas 2002 issue (On Leaving the Forest). A few copies of his book, Confessions of a Francophile, remain; please contact us if you wish to purchase one. You may wish to listen to his beloved composer, J.S. Bach, as you remember our father; if you close your eyes, you might even see there, at the piano, playing his favorite fugue. Gratefully for your loyal readership, which gave him so much joy, The Kevorkian Family |
