From second speech of Congressman (NY) Gary Ackerman
(by time granted by his friend from NJ)

One of our colleagues said that there are two actors in this play: Turks and Armenians. I’d say and remind us that the Truth is too on this stage. Do not banish truth from this stage.

Some of our colleagues cited Scripture. I’m not one who does it in public, but I want to respond to the citation that “there is a time for everything, and a season for every activity”. Truth is never out of season. It is always in season, the truth.

And for those who claimed that the time is wrong, I’d ask you to look at four young ladies sitting in wheelchairs and who had been helped getting up this morning and had to sit on the planes and come down here, living almost 100 years and tell them when to come to this room again for a justice. What time they can come back?

Think about consequences, full consequences of what we do… the damage that we do to history as we cust out votes today…

Please do your duty to honor justice, honor the truth, recognize history. There is no wrong time to do that.
